King Charles III is reportedly worried about Prince Harry's potential next steps as the Duke of Sussex eyes up work opportunities in the UK. Prince Harry has kept busy since returning to the UK, with charity work and public appearances.
Possible Diana documentary
Reports suggest that Harry is considering making a documentary about his late mother, Princess Diana, to mark the 30th anniversary of her death. It comes after Earl Spencer, Diana's brother, released his book Swan Song: Diana, My Sister last week, in which he makes a number of bombshell claims about King Charles and the Royal Family.
In the past, Harry has produced or participated in multiple projects that have seen him speak about the Royal Family, something that is understood to have contributed to the frosty relationship between him and his relatives, including his brother. Shockwaves were sent through the Palace when Harry released his memoir Spare, and when he and Meghan released their own Netflix docuseries.
Royal concerns
Now, King Charles III is reportedly nervous about what Harry might do next. A source told Closer that it's "inevitable" that Earl Spencer will take part in such a documentary, adding to existing worries within the King and the wider Royal Family about "Harry's intentions".
Speaking of Harry's relationship with his maternal uncle, the source said: "He loves his uncle dearly and openly admires him for having the courage to take no prisoners and fiercely defend Diana’s legacy."
The source also said: "There’s so much bad blood with Diana’s side of the family, of course, it feels like Harry is siding with the enemy, only the Lord knows what they’re planning together, but the King is bracing for the worst."
Talks and denials
It is understood that Prince Harry has had multiple talks over a potential Diana documentary. It has also been reported that Prince William has been approached with a number of offers but has refused them all.
While it has been rumoured that Earl Spencer would be involved in a Diana documentary made by Harry, he insisted that Harry had no involvement in his book. Speaking to CBS Mornings, he said: "I didn't tell any of the family until just before it was released publicly as a thing. I didn't want anyone to think, particularly with Harry, who people know I had to stay in the summer, that he was in any way involved in this." "It was important to me that they weren't," he added. Earl Spencer says he has spoken with William and Harry since it hit the shelves on September 22.
