Kate and William Reveal First Photo of Forest Lodge

Kensington Palace has shared a perfectly posed photograph of the Prince and Princess of Wales just moments before they departed for Royal Ascot yesterday evening. The image, which shows the royal couple in their Ascot attire, was accompanied by the message: "A wonderful day at Royal Ascot. W & C."

As royal fans widely circulated the behind-the-scenes snapshot, which captures Catherine beaming up at her husband, who is holding his top hat and an umbrella, they quickly realized it marks the first time the couple has shared a picture of their new residence, Forest Lodge.

The Glamorous Couple at Forest Lodge

The glamorous couple is seen standing on a patio outside the home they moved to on the Windsor Estate at the end of last year, in front of some double doors. It is believed to be the first official photograph the couple has shared from their new Georgian home, a Grade-II listed property that recently underwent a significant refurbishment before their relocation.

Royal fans were thrilled to catch a glimpse of the exterior of the home, with many taking to the comments to compliment the couple on their outfits and express delight at seeing them attend the races together.

Princess Kate's Return to Royal Ascot

The Princess of Wales brought a ray of sunshine to Royal Ascot yesterday as she attended the event for the first time since her cancer diagnosis. Wearing a bright yellow dress by Roksanda, a matching hat by Jane Tyler, and earrings that belonged to the late Queen Elizabeth II, Catherine looked radiant as she sat beside the Prince of Wales in the carriage procession on the second day of the prestigious racing event.

This marks her first attendance at Royal Ascot in three years, as she had not attended since being diagnosed with an undisclosed form of cancer at the start of 2024. The Princess had been scheduled to attend last year but pulled out at the last minute, leaving her husband to attend the event solo. At the time, it was understood she was finding the right balance as she made a full return to public-facing engagements following her cancer treatment.

Catherine, who announced she was in remission from the disease in January 2025, has now returned to a normal schedule and went on her first official overseas work trip last month.

Cheers and Applause at the Racecourse

The Berkshire racecourse erupted in cheers when the Princess's image was projected on screens throughout the course, and loud applause and whoops greeted the royal party as the four horse-drawn carriages arrived in the parade ring shortly after 2pm. Those traveling in the carriages then chatted with guests in the presentation circle, with Lady Gabriella Windsor among those present.
