Prince Harry Plans Olive Branch to William Before Diana Anniversary
Harry Plans Olive Branch to William Before Diana Anniversary

Prince Harry is reportedly planning to extend an olive branch to his estranged brother, Prince William, before the 30th anniversary of their mother's death next year. The Duke of Sussex, 41, is said to want to make peace with William and his wife, Princess Catherine, for the sake of King Charles and ahead of the emotional milestone.

Strained Relationship Since 2020

The brothers were once close, but the last few years have seen them lose contact. This is believed to have been triggered by Harry's vocal criticisms of the Royal Family since quitting royal duty in 2020, especially in his 2023 memoir Spare.

While Harry has spoken a few times about his desire to reconcile with William, The Prince of Wales has never publicly shared his view on this. Instead, he has simply not met Harry on any of the duke's UK trips, even when meetings with the King have taken place.

Desire for Peace

It is now believed that Harry could try to extend an olive branch again to William and Catherine. A source told Heat World: "He misses his brother and sister-in-law, and wants his father to see his sons at peace."

The source added: "On top of that, Diana's anniversary is coming up and there are all these emotional reasons for wanting to find a way forward."

Marking Diana's Legacy

It is likely that William and Harry, whether together or apart, will mark the 30th anniversary of Diana's death in some way next year. Both were close with their mother before her death and have shared how hard it was losing her as young boys.

Harry opened up about the trauma he felt in his memoir, recalling the moment he found out about his mother dying in the Paris car crash. He wrote: "I remember waiting patiently for Pa to confirm that indeed Mummy was all right. And I remember him not doing that." The prince said that everything then seemed to "stop".

Throughout their adult lives, both Harry and William have carried out charity work in their mother's memory.
