Prince Harry and Meghan Markle won't last long in the UK due to a simple reason, a former royal spokesman has claimed. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have returned to Britain and found a home somewhere outside of London, six years after they left the country for a new life in America.
Three reasons for a possible return to the US
While the exact reason why the Sussexes returned is unknown, Dickie Arbiter, who was the late Queen Elizabeth's Press Secretary between 1988 and 2000, claimed there are three reasons why the Sussex couple may head back to the US shortly.
He said on Vanessa Feltz's YouTube programme, At Home with Vanessa: "I think he [Harry] thinks that he might be able to work around his father to get him back in the fold, but his father's made it very clear there ain't no job for you. You're on your own, son."
Lack of royal role could drive Harry away
Mr Arbiter stressed that the lack of royal role is what may drive Harry to decide against staying in England for the long run, adding: "Well, he got a comeuppance when he was told that nothing had changed from the 2020 Sandringham Summit, in January of that year, that he's not a working royal. He chose to opt out, he chose to be financially independent and he's not a working royal."
The Sussexes returned to the UK last month.
