Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been accused by a royal expert of “ruthlessly exploiting” their royal links, with no questions asked about their motives. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex returned to the UK last month, six years after leaving for a new life in the US.
The couple are now living in the Cotswolds, and their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, have been enrolled in British schools. However, a royal commentator has pointed out that the Sussexes have yet to answer questions about the claims they made against the Royal Family following their exit.
Expert's warning over unanswered questions
Veteran royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams told the Daily Express: “One has to remember that they [Harry and Meghan] have got where they are without answering any questions about the lies they told about the Royal Family.
“This is obviously to obtain the worldwide profile they are currently ruthlessly and successfully exploiting.
“When William ascended the throne, they might not have had this opportunity, and we still don't definitively know why they are in Britain.”
Harry's New York speech hit by technical blunder
The comments come after the duke gave a speech in New York City this week, which was overshadowed by a technical blunder on stage. Harry had to cut short his address to the Clinton Global Initiative on Wednesday when the teleprompter failed.
He was welcomed back to the stage some 40 minutes later to deliver the end of his talk. It was the first time Harry had travelled back to the US since returning to live in the UK last month.
