Emmerdale aired yet another mystery on Monday night following the deaths of Jimmy King and Dawn Taylor. Last week, Jimmy King (Nick Miles) was dramatically killed off after 22 years on the soap. Emotional scenes saw him lose his life after crashing into a marquee at Home Farm, with the accident also claiming the life of Dawn Fletcher (Olivia Bromley).
Double life revealed
Jimmy has been married to Nicola (Nicola Wheeler) for 16 years, but now his ex-wife, Sadie King (Patsy Kensit), is back, and she’s got some shocking revelations. Nicola was left devastated after Sadie revealed that she’s been in a relationship with Jimmy for three years behind her back, and that he’s essentially been living a double life.
Nicola is left devastated after hearing about Jimmy's betrayal. Nicola is heartbroken to lose her husband, but soon his lies start to unravel, and the truth gets revealed, and actress Nicola Wheeler says her grief “very quickly turns to anger, which then turns to hatred.”
“Once she starts discovering what’s been going on, the grieving process stops, and suddenly she’s thrown into doubting her husband; she doesn’t know who he is anymore because none of this was apparent to her, and he’s done it all behind her back,” she said.
Secrets and shockwaves
A few weeks ago, viewers saw Jimmy sell his stake in the haulage firm to Caleb (Will Ash) and Ruby (Beth Cordingly), something he’s kept secret from Nicola. Nicola is shocked and confused to learn the truth, and once she hears about the true extent of Jimmy’s secrets, she’s left devastated.

Nicola says her character ‘hits rock bottom’ after the revelations: “She feels like the last three years of their life, if not their entire marriage, has been a lie. She’s already lost a huge part of herself by losing her husband, the man she adored more than anything else in this world, and then to feel that that man didn’t feel the same about you, and actually he’s hoodwinked you for the past three years of your life.”
Patsy Kensit, who stars as Sadie, got a ‘wallop’ from Nicola after she spilled the beans: “I’ve got quite a few [slaps] coming up.” Patsy also promised a lot of drama: “There are some fun scenes and once Nicola gets to the bottom of what Sadie is about… oh my god… it’s going to be drama!”
