Jonathan Howard, who plays Carl Webster in Coronation Street, was previously married to actress Elodie Yung, known for roles in Daredevil and The Cleaning Lady. The couple tied the knot in 2020 and share a daughter, Minavann.
Career and Relationship
Yung has appeared in productions including The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, G.I. Joe: Retaliation and Daredevil. Most recently, she took on the leading role of Thony De La Rosa in The Cleaning Lady. Jonathan encountered Elodie after relocating to America following his graduation from drama school.
Their relationship flourished, and the pair welcomed daughter Minavann in 2018. Jonathan previously revealed last year that he and Elodie had moved from LA to another state for her job.
Wedding and Family Life
In 2020, they officially tied the knot during the pandemic. Elodie told TheDay.com: "Our parents are in Europe, my mom is in Paris, and his mom is in the U.K. So Jonny had his mom on his phone, and I had my mom on my phone, and they were all dressed up. They made an effort! And this is how we did it, which was fun."
Jonathan also spoke about the difficulties of being apart from his wife and daughter while filming Coronation Street. "The hardest part of this job is the heartbreak I feel not being with my daughter every day," he revealed on Loose Women last year. He explained that she enjoys a lengthy summer holiday and was able to remain at his mum's residence where he was raised, merely an hour's drive from the Coronation Street set.
Split and Co-Parenting
Earlier this year, reports emerged that Jonathan and Elodie had parted ways last year – with the former couple maintaining a strong friendship while co-parenting their daughter. Coronation Street airs Monday to Friday at 8:30pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
