Brooklyn Beckham and his wife Nicola Peltz have arrived in Paris, but they will be avoiding a meeting with his family. The 27-year-old son of Victoria and David Beckham was seen walking hand-in-hand with his actress wife in the French capital on Tuesday evening, just days before his mother's fashion show.
No plans to attend Victoria's show
A source told Metro: 'Brooklyn has no plans to go to Victoria's show on Friday, or see his family while he's in Paris.'
'He'll be attending the Balenciaga show, alongside Nicola, on Thursday.'
Brooklyn's brothers Cruz and Romeo and sister Harper have gathered in Paris for Victoria's Paris Fashion Week show, which takes place on Friday.
Background of the rift
Rumours of a fallout in the family began around the time of Brooklyn's 2022 wedding to Nicola. The couple were noticeably absent from milestone family events, including celebrations for David's 50th birthday and his knighthood ceremony. None of the Beckhams were invited to Brooklyn and Nicola's vow renewal ceremony last summer.
In January, Brooklyn responded to rumours of a rift with a statement on social media, accusing his parents of 'controlling' him and declaring that he was now 'standing up' for himself.
Public statements
In an interview with the Wall Street Journal in April, Victoria said: 'I think that we've always – we love our children so much. We've always tried to be the best parents that we can be.'
'And you know, we've been in the public eye for more than 30 years right now, and all we've ever tried to do is protect our children and love our children. And you know, that's all I really want to say about it.'
Brooklyn said in his January statement: 'Unfortunately, my parents and their team have continued to go to the press, leaving me with no choice but to speak for myself and tell the truth about only some of the lies that have been printed.'
'I do not want to reconcile with my family. I'm not being controlled, I'm standing up for myself for the first time in my life.'
