Ariana Grande tells Trump to never use her music again
Ariana Grande warns Trump: never use my music again

Ariana Grande has issued a sharp rebuke to Donald Trump after his team featured her music in an anti-trans TikTok video, telling the president to "never use my music again."

A clip uploaded to TikTok by Team Trump on Thursday showed the president striding towards the stage at a political rally. Text overlaying the footage declared: "Me and my truth we sit in silence... men can't have babies and should never compete in women's sports."

Team Trump accompanied the post with the caption: "This decision shouldn't be controversial! #trump #arianagrande #maga."

Grande's response

The video originally included Grande's 2024 hit We Can't Be Friends (Wait for Your Love), though the audio has now been removed. Grande hit back in the comments, marking yet another instance where she's been forced to challenge Trump's unauthorised use of her work.

In her August 20 response, Grande wrote: "Never use my music again. Also, your truth is false", reports the Mirror US.

Second confrontation over music usage

This is the second time Grande has confronted Trump over music usage. Previously in June, the 33 year old pop sensation warned Trump against incorporating her song in an anti-ICE TikTok.

That row began when the White House used her 2024 track Bye in a TikTok video showing ICE agents making arrests. The clip depicted ICE officers handcuffing several individuals.

The clip was captioned: "Bye-bye. President Trump has delivered the most secure border in history."

Grande responded sharply, writing: "Please do not ever use my music in relation to this barbaric, inhumane, heinous nonsense. F- ICE."

Broader criticism of the administration

Both her comment and the track have since been deleted from the TikTok post. While Grande's remark disappeared from the TikTok footage, a spokesperson for the pop star verified to Billboard that it was authentically Grande who left the comment and noted it had vanished "for some reason."

Grande also took aim at the Trump administration during the 2026 Golden Globe Awards ceremony, where the Wicked star sported an ICE Out pin. In September 2025, Grande reshared an Instagram message condemning Trump regarding ICE operations and anti-trans language.

The initial post was penned by activist Matt Bernstein and stated: "I want to check in with trump voters. I have one very genuine question. It's been 250 days. now that immigrants have been violently torn from their families and communities have been destroyed."

"Now that trans people have been blamed for virtually everything and live in fear, now that free speech is on the brink of collapse for us all - has your life gotten better?"

Throughout the 2024 presidential race, Grande backed Democratic contender Kamala Harris. She had previously taken to the stage for Barack Obama and Michelle Obama at the 2014 In Performance at the White House: Women of Soul occasion.
