Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet are said to be “very excited” about potentially meeting their grandfather, the King, it has been claimed. The children of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex may have a chance to see their grandfather for the first time in four years as Prince Harry’s trip is getting close.
Harry's Upcoming UK Visit
Harry is expected to fly to London on Monday to begin his five-day trip to his home country, where he will carry out engagements both in the capital and Birmingham for his charities, including the Invictus Games, WellChild and Scotty’s Little Soldiers. Although there were hopes that the Sussex children could join their father for the entire trip, it became known over the weekend that they wouldn’t be joining him in London due to security concerns. Despite that, there is still a chance that Archie and Lilibet may visit parts of the UK outside the capital, with a potential meeting with their grandfather still in the cards.
Children's Awareness of Royal Ties
Now friends of the couple have spoken about the children’s real feelings towards their grandfather and revealed that they appear to be “unaware” of their links to their royal relatives. A source told Hello! magazine: “The truth is they don’t really have any concept about who they (the Royal Family) are, their parents are very good at keeping them away from it all so they live as normal little kids.” The outlet also claimed that the duke is in “frequent” contact with his father to arrange a meeting privately.
Last Meeting and Current Uncertainty
The Sussex children last saw their grandfather in person during Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations in 2022. Now, their and Meghan’s potential arrival in the UK is still up in the air, just hours before the duke heads home, it is understood. The Daily Express has been told that the Sussex camp are “still waiting on a decision” regarding whether it’s safe for Harry’s wife and children to visit other parts of the UK. The children are not expected to attend any public events, but it was previously reported that Meghan was scheduled to join her husband on visits to the Royal Hospital Chelsea in London and an Invictus event at the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham.
