Vicky Pattison Tops Strictly Leaderboard With Swift Tango

Strictly Come Dancing returned to screens last night with nine couples remaining, and the competition is heating up. Last week's Halloween special saw Emmerdale actor Lewis Cope and his partner Katya Jones achieve the first perfect score of the series with their Couple's Choice to a big band-style version of Radiohead's 'Creep'. The judges praised the routine as one that would go down in Strictly history.

This week, Cope and Jones opened the show with a cha cha to 'I Like It Like That' by Pete Rodriguez, scoring 35 points. However, they were pipped to the top of the leaderboard by Vicky Pattison and Kai Widdrington, who earned their highest score yet. The Geordie Shore star channelled Taylor Swift for a tango to 'Fate of Ophelia', receiving an impressive 39 points, including 10s from Motsi Mabuse and Anton du Beke.

Elsewhere, Balvinder Sopal, who survived her third dance-off last weekend, bounced back with a Couple's Choice to 'Sapphire' by Ed Sheeran and Arijit Singh. The judges saved the EastEnders star in Sunday's episode, sending Ellie Goldstein home. Alex Kingston also opened up about her numerical dyslexia, which made dancing the paso doble difficult, but she continues to impress.

The results show airs tomorrow at 7.10pm, where one more couple will be eliminated. Motsi Mabuse will have the final say if the judges are split after the dance-off.
