Strictly Star Overcome with Emotion After Stunning Performance

Reality TV star Vicky Pattison has openly shared her emotional turmoil following an exceptional performance on BBC's Strictly Come Dancing. The 37-year-old, best known for Geordie Shore and winning I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here!, found herself at the top of the leaderboard with a near-perfect score of 39 for her Tango to Taylor Swift's The Fate Of Ophelia.

A Weekend of Tears and Triumph

Appearing on the Strictly spin-off show It Takes Two with host Fleur East and her professional partner Kai Widdrington, Vicky confessed the result left her feeling incredibly overwhelmed. She referenced a social media comment that joked about her potential reaction to a perfect score of 40, admitting there was some truth to it.

"For someone like me who had never danced before and was so scared at the start of the process, even now who still has wobbles, that's a moment I never thought would be mine," she explained. "I'm still feeling very overwhelmed and I spent Sunday just bursting into tears."

As a mark of her achievement, she was presented with a framed picture of the leaderboard and a humorous cushion featuring judge Anton Du Beke holding up his 10 paddle, to which she joked she was taking it straight to bed.

Praise from the Judges and Hopes for Lasting Friendships

The judges were unanimous in their acclaim for her performance. Craig Revel Horwood described it as "perfect", while Anton Du Beke admitted he was "a bit stunned" by its quality, calling it "absolutely marvellous" and praising her "immaculate" line.

Motsi Mabuse and head judge Shirley Ballas declared it their "dance of the night". Motsi reaffirmed her belief that Vicky is a contender for the final, stating, "Without a doubt, you are on fire. Whatever is giving you that fire – keep it up."

Beyond the competition, Vicky expressed her deep affection for her fellow contestants. She called herself "the luckiest girl in the world" to be on the show with such lovely people and voiced her hope that they would remain friends forever. Drawing on her past experience, she noted she is still friends with Ferne McCann, whom she met in the jungle a decade ago, and is keeping her fingers crossed for similar lasting bonds from Strictly.

After the show, her disbelief continued, as she took to Instagram to share a snapshot of the leaderboard with the caption: "This can not be real". The performance occurred during the halfway point of the series, with nine couples still vying for the Glitterball trophy.
