Vernon Kay is reportedly planning to leave the family home, three months after announcing his split from Tess Daly. The BBC Radio 2 host is said to be moving to a property around 15 minutes away from the family's six-bedroom Buckinghamshire house.
New £3 million property
The new house reportedly costs £3 million and features a swimming pool and extensive grounds. A source told The Sun: "They've been navigating the end of their marriage carefully and haven't rushed into anything. Vernon has now bought a place close to the family home in Buckinghamshire."
The source added: "It means he can stay close to their girls, which is something important to both him and Tess."
Renovations before moving
Work on Vernon's new property is not yet complete, and he will only move out once the renovations have finished. The source said: "He's having renovations done and will move out when the house is ready. Tess is supporting him with the move. It's going to be very strange for them after living together for over two decades, so they're both treating the situation with care and respect."
Tess and Vernon married in 2003 and share two daughters, Phoebe, 21, and Amber, 16.
Amicable split announcement
The couple announced their split in a joint statement in May. They said: "After much consideration, and with a deep sense of care and respect for one another, we have made the decision to separate amicably. This has not been an easy choice, but it comes from a place of mutual understanding and a shared desire for what is best for both of us."
They concluded: "We remain great friends and, most importantly, fully committed to our roles as loving and supportive parents, which will always be our priority. There are no other parties involved in this decision. We kindly ask for privacy during this time. We will not be making any further public comments."
Earlier this month, fans noticed that Tess had removed her wedding ring when she shared a video on Instagram from her latest photoshoot for swimwear brand Naia Beach. Tess and Vernon have remained on friendly terms, with the radio presenter publicly supporting the former model's swimwear brand by liking and commenting on Instagram. They have also attended events together with their friends.
