Former barrister and crime writer Harriet Tyce has admitted she feels "awful" and is "not proud" of her explosive on-screen outburst during the latest series of the BBC's hit reality show, The Traitors.
The Explosive Breakfast Confrontation
The dramatic moment unfolded on the episode broadcast on Wednesday 14 January 2026. After winning a chance to speak to the Traitors, Harriet addressed her fellow contestants the following morning. While sharing her experiences and casting suspicion on another player, Rachel, Harriet's temper flared in a bizarre and intense way.
When Rachel questioned the strategic benefit of the new twist, Harriet interrupted, stating, "I'll tell you the benefit." Fellow Faithful Roxy intervened, urging Harriet to let Rachel speak. This prompted Harriet to shout back: "The benefit is to set the cat amongst the pigeons, Roxy!" The confrontation left viewers and contestants alike stunned.
A Genuine Loss of Temper, Not a Performance
In a new interview, Harriet confirmed to Metro that her fury was not an act for the cameras, as some speculated, but a genuine result of being deeply immersed in the game's high-pressure environment. "Unfortunately, and I'm not proud of it at all, I did lose my temper and I really wish I hadn't," she confessed. "I wish that it had gone a different way."
Harriet said watching the scene back was difficult, noting the raw emotion was something she never intended to broadcast to the nation. She emphasised, however, that it demonstrated the intense psychological power of the game, which is a key reason for the show's success.
Apologies and Aftermath
The clash deeply upset Roxy, who later told Harriet, "I think the way you spoke to me at the table was disgusting. To say that we're actually friends in this game, that went past the friendship thing for me."
Harriet revealed she has since met with Roxy and apologised again after the episode aired. "I messaged her again, saying, 'God, this is awful. I'm so sorry that I shouted. I really wish that I hadn't,'" Harriet shared. Roxy reportedly replied that she found the scene "hard to watch".
The outburst directly contributed to Harriet's banishment at the subsequent roundtable. In a final strategic move, she even urged others to vote for her in an attempt to prove her theory about Rachel. Despite her dramatic exit, many fans have hailed Harriet as "the best Faithful" the show has seen, largely due to her earlier success in ousting Traitor Hugo.
