Fiona Hughes, a contestant on BBC One's The Traitors, has thanked viewers for their support after a dramatic betrayal led to her banishment from the show. In a recent episode, the Welsh contestant turned on fellow traitor Rachel, branding her a liar in what has been described as one of the most explosive rows in the programme's history.
The local government worker had largely flown under the radar throughout the series, but her daring betrayal thrust her into the spotlight. However, the move came at a cost: during Friday evening's instalment, she was ultimately banished from the game by the faithfuls.
Undeterred, Fiona took to Instagram on Saturday (January 10) to share a heartfelt message against the backdrop of Swansea Bay. Wrapped up against the winter chill, she said: 'A big hello from me at Swansea Bay... I just wanted to touch base with you all to say a massive, massive thank you for all your help, all your love and all your support. It has meant a lot to me.'
Fans quickly flooded the comments with love, with one writing: 'My girlfriend and I are the biggest fans of you and we will miss you in the upcoming episodes. You are our winner.' Another added: 'We all thank you for gracing our screens, you are an icon.'
Despite the heated on-screen clash, Rachel took to Instagram to hail Fiona as a 'legend', sharing an AI-generated image depicting Fiona as Little Red Riding Hood and herself as the wolf. Rachel continues to play the role of a traitor alongside Stephen, with sweet shop assistant Reece becoming their fourth murder victim.
