Contestant Fiona from the hit BBC show The Traitors has publicly thanked her supporters after a dramatic betrayal led to her banishment in Friday night's episode. The Welsh player, who had been operating as a secret traitor unknown to both viewers and fellow contestants, saw her game unravel after a fiery confrontation.
The Betrayal That Backfired
Fiona, a local government officer, had managed to avoid suspicion for much of the game. However, her strategy took a sharp turn when she directly accused her fellow traitor, Rachel, of being a liar. This explosive row, played out in front of the faithful contestants, instantly made Fiona a prime target.
The tense exchange ultimately sealed her fate at the roundtable. Fiona became the second traitor to be identified and banished by the faithfuls in this series. Reflecting on her exit in a subsequent interview, she took full responsibility, stating she was the "master" of her own "downfall".
A Grateful Goodbye from Swansea Bay
Following her televised exit, Fiona took to Instagram on Saturday 10 January 2026 to share a video message with her followers. Filmed at Swansea Bay, she expressed her heartfelt appreciation for the audience's backing.
"A big hello from me at Swansea Bay," she said. "I just wanted to touch base with you all to say a massive, massive thank you for all your help, all your love and all your support. It has meant a lot to me. Thank you so much. Love to everybody. Cheerio."
Aftermath and the Game Continues
Despite the on-screen confrontation, there appears to be no lasting rancour between the former allies. Rachel herself praised Fiona as an "absolute legend" in an Instagram post. She shared an AI-generated image depicting Fiona as Little Red Riding Hood and herself as the wolf, captioning it: "Fiona you absolute legend. Talk about making a game so much fun. A little minx of a Secret Traitor and a lady who reminded us all that this is a game."
With Fiona's departure, Rachel remains in the game as a traitor alongside Stephen. Their latest move saw sweet shop assistant Reece become the fourth murder victim of the series.
The Traitors continues on BBC One and iPlayer on January 14 at 8pm.
