Traitors' Jack Butler Sparks Winner Rumours After Santorini Proposal
Traitors' Jack Butler Sparks Winner Rumours With Proposal

A contestant on the hit BBC show The Traitors may have inadvertently revealed he is the winner, after footage of his future plans aligned with a real-life romantic gesture.

A Dinner Party Revelation

During a traditional dinner party in Friday's episode, the remaining contestants discussed what they would do with the prize fund. Jack Butler, a 29-year-old Faithful, shared his ambitions.

He explained that, like many in the UK, he and his girlfriend struggled to get on the property ladder, so a deposit would be a huge help. He then added a more personal goal: "I want to be putting a ring on it in a few months' time." When questioned, Jack confirmed he had a "secret plan" and the ring was already sorted.

Plans Materialise in Santorini

In a strong indication that his television wishes came true, Jack proposed to his girlfriend in Santorini in July, two months after the series was filmed in Scotland. He shared happy snaps on social media, including one holding her hand which showed off a large diamond ring, and referred to her as his "new fiancée."

Further evidence came from the Instagram page of jewellery brand Durham Rose, which posted professional photos of the yacht-based proposal in the Aegean Sea. The caption celebrated the "dreamy Santorini" setting and their bespoke ring, confirming the event took place.

Emotional Roundtable and Secret Relationship Exposed

The episode also featured a highly charged roundtable where the final eight players were decided. Dr Ellie Buckley, 33, was banished after receiving the most votes. In her emotional final speech, the psychologist not only confirmed she was a Faithful but dropped a bombshell.

She revealed she was in a relationship with Ross Garshong, 37, a contestant who had already been voted off the show. While viewers had been let in on the secret earlier, her fellow players were stunned. Suspicion had been raised from the first episode when they appeared overly familiar on the train to the Scottish Highlands.

Their pre-existing connection was later supported by a surfaced group photo from a June 2024 work trip and separate holiday snaps from the same Tenerife resort posted after filming.

Elsewhere in the dramatic episode, Jessie Roux was murdered by the Traitors. The show ended with Traitors Rachel and Stephen being tasked with giving a ceremonial dagger to a Faithful, which grants a double vote at the next roundtable—a move that could decisively alter the game ahead of the final.
