Viewers of BBC's hit reality show The Traitors issued a collective plea during Thursday night's episode, begging contestants to leave fan-favourite Reece alone after he was aggressively targeted in a dramatic round table vote.
Faithful Under Fire
The 27-year-old sweet shop assistant from Sheffield was labelled an 'angel' by the audience, who argued he had done 'nothing suspicious'. Despite this, other Faithfuls singled him out, accusing him of being a Traitor and leaving him visibly emotional. Fans took to social media platform X to express their dismay at seeing the 'nicest guy' become so distressed.
One viewer wrote: 'Genuinely impressed how many people on the traitors think Reece is a Daniel Day Lewis level of actor.' Others were more protective, with posts demanding: 'LEAVE REECE ALONE… he’s done nothing suspicious'. Many commented on his emotional state, with one noting: 'Reece just seems so emotionally drained and dejected!'
A Tense Banishment and a Twist of Fate
The pressure culminated in a nail-biting Banishment ceremony which resulted in a deadlocked tie between Reece and fellow contestant Amanda. The outcome was left to the Chest of Chance. In a heart-wrenching moment, a tearful Reece opened the chest to discover he had been saved, meaning Amanda was banished from the castle.
The episode's drama was far from over. In a separate and shocking twist, father-of-five Maz was murdered face-to-face by the Traitors. After being held in a cage overnight with Sam, Reece, and Traitor Stephen, Maz's fate was sealed when Reece was released, leaving him as the only victim.
Traitors Revealed in Dramatic Confrontation
The three hooded Traitors – Stephen, Rachel, and Fiona – then made a menacing entrance to reveal their identities to Maz. The stunned Faithful admitted he had doubts about Stephen but was utterly betrayed by Rachel and Fiona, the latter of whom he considered a friend.
Sharing his condemnation before being 'murdered', Maz said: 'I would've believed Stephen, but you two let me down badly.' The double dose of high-stakes drama left fans reeling, with some questioning the Traitors' bold strategy this season and others simply wanting to give Reece a hug.
