Fans of BBC One's The Traitors believe they have uncovered the identity of the show's Secret Traitor after contestant Ellie appeared to accidentally reveal herself during a confessional. The psychologist expressed concern about being perceived as a 'Secret Traitor', a term that viewers argue she would not know unless she were one.
In the latest episode, Ellie said: 'People will question whether you are sitting and watching as a kind of Secret Traitor.' This prompted immediate speculation online, with one fan noting: 'Ellie saying "don't want to look like a Secret Traitor" as a faithful who don't know about a Secret Traitor??? Suspicious wording.'
The Secret Traitor twist, introduced this season, involves a fourth traitor hidden from all other players and the audience. They wear a scarlet cloak and have the power to select three potential victims for the other traitors to murder. Episode three nearly revealed the identity, but the episode ended as the Secret Traitor approached the tower.
Viewers have also been analysing handwriting on elimination lists, with one fan suggesting that Roxy could be the Secret Traitor based on the writing style. The theory arose after Netty's name was misspelled as 'Nettie' on the murder shortlist, but Netty was eliminated before the theory could be tested at the round table.
The Traitors continues next Wednesday at 8pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
