Disney+ has confirmed that 'The Real Rooneys' will premiere on September 24, offering a first look at the series with a brand new trailer. The show follows Coleen and Wayne Rooney as cameras capture their family life in their Cheshire home, which they share with their four sons: Kai, Klay, Kit and Cass.
A pivotal year for the Rooneys
The 10-episode series documents what is described as a 'pivotal year' for the couple. Wayne steps away from football management, swapping the pitch for school runs, while Coleen embraces significant career opportunities, including a major collaboration with Primark.
The couple, who married in 2008, have granted film crews 'unprecedented access' as they balance family life with their high-profile careers. The series also follows eldest son Kai, 16, who is currently playing for Manchester United's youth academy.
Inside the trailer
In the 30-second trailer, the boys are seen fighting on the sofa and giggling, while Coleen tells the camera: "It's hectic, it's mad, there's not much peace and quiet around here." She adds: "No-one knows the real Rooneys, this is a side of us that we've never shown before."
The series marks the first time the family has allowed fans into their home, offering a look at their relationship, which began when they were childhood sweethearts at 16 in 2002.
Release details
According to the press release, the reality series captures "surprising personal revelations, career-defining moments, lavish celebrations and unforgettable family holidays," as the family swaps their Cheshire mansion for the beaches of Barbados and the snowy Alps.
Episodes 1-8 will stream exclusively on Disney+ on September 24, with two special episodes available on October 1.
