Strictly Stars Amy Dowden and Carlos Gu Join Celebrity Hunted

Welsh Strictly Come Dancing star Amy Dowden is returning to television in a new instalment of reality show Celebrity Hunted, partnering with her best friend and Strictly colleague Carlos Gu. The pair will attempt to avoid capture by Ray Howard and his elite team of Hunters while raising funds for Stand Up To Cancer.

Series Premiere

The new series airs on Channel 4 on Monday, August 3 at 9pm, more than ten years after the original Hunted first aired. The celebrity fugitives must vanish into mainland Britain for 14 days, staying hidden and trusting no one.

Other Celebrities

Alongside Dowden and Gu are EastEnders star Brian Conley with his daughter Lucy, Love Island personalities Chris Taylor and Toby Aromolaran, JJ Chalmers and Sophie Morgan, presenting siblings Scarlette and Stuart Douglas, and comedians Jen Brister and Laura Smythe.

Background

Beyond Strictly, Dowden and Gu recently completed a UK dance tour called Reborn and appeared on Celebrity Gogglebox. The original Hunted launched in 2015, with its celebrity counterpart following in 2017. The Wanted's Jay McGuinness and Siva Kaneswaran won in 2017, while Christine McGuinness and Duncan James were victorious in the most recent series last year.

Channel 4's Factual Entertainment Commissioning Editor Ian Dunkley said: 'When celebrities go on the run and are forced to engage the help of us mere mortals, chaos and comedy inevitably ensue. Hunted down by a motivated team of police and security professionals, this series reveals what it takes to remain hidden when everybody knows what you look like.'
