Strictly Come Dancing viewers expressed outrage on Sunday evening after Vicky Pattison became the seventh celebrity eliminated from the competition. The Geordie star and her professional partner Kai Widdrington found themselves in the dance-off alongside Balvinder Sopal, who was saved by the judges for the fourth time.
Pattison and Widdrington performed a Jive to Girls Aloud's 'Sound of the Underground' before the verdict was announced. Fans took to social media to vent their frustration, with one writing: 'Slightly distraught with the result because you were a definite potential winner.' Another commented: 'Stop voting out celebs who are improving each week!'
After her elimination, an emotional Pattison said: 'It was so lovely while it lasted... I didn’t think I’d get past week one.' She added: 'I’m so sorry I didn’t get you to Blackpool but I feel like I’ve won just by having you as my partner.'
Widdrington praised his partner, stating: 'You are everything that this series is about. Strong, confident, independent... you will live on in Strictly history forever.' The result has left many viewers disappointed, with some calling it the 'worst results show ever.'
