Sinitta has revealed that her return to the jungle for the upcoming I'm A Celebrity... South Africa spin-off was even tougher than her 2011 stint, claiming: 'They did try to kill me in that jungle.' The singer, now 62, described the experience as 'the show on steroids' and admitted that if she had known what she was in for, she would not have gone.
Speaking at the British Diversity Awards in London, Sinitta said the producers put her through everything she had said she did not want to do. 'They did everything to me that I said I didn’t want done. But I guess that’s how it works, isn’t it?' she said.
Despite the hardships, Sinitta praised the beauty of South Africa, calling it 'paradise' with waterfalls and mountains. She also revealed that the WhatsApp group with her fellow campmates, started by David Haye, is still active.
Reflecting on the experience, Sinitta said it changed her as a person. 'When I did it 15 years ago, I was like a child, even though I was grown. This time, I feel changed as a person,' she explained. She admitted that making friends with nature was hard but felt honoured to be asked and gave it everything.
At home, Sinitta is happy with her mystery partner, whom she calls 'Little Harry Redknapp', and is proud of her son Zac, who now runs a bar in London's Piccadilly Circus.
