Pop star Sinitta has candidly revealed the intense fear she experienced during her time on I'm A Celebrity... South Africa, following her dramatic self-eviction from the ITV reality series. The 62-year-old singer, who originally competed in the 2011 series, made a sudden exit during a bushtucker trial on Wednesday night's episode, shouting the show's iconic catchphrase to end the challenge for all contestants.
Dramatic Exit and Emotional Confession
Sinitta's departure comes just days before the highly anticipated series finale, leaving five finalists remaining: Olympian Sir Mo Farah, former football manager Harry Redknapp, ex-Gogglebox star Scarlett Moffatt, Waterloo Road actor Adam Thomas, and actor-DJ Craig Charles. Speaking to hosts Ant and Dec after her exit, Sinitta confessed that despite entering the show with apparent "bravado" and determination to win, she was secretly overwhelmed by fear.
"The truth is, I was terrified," Sinitta admitted. "I was kind of forcing myself to do it because I was tired of being scared because I've been scared of stuff all my life." She described putting on a "good game face" but acknowledged the emotional toll of the experience, while also recognizing her own inner strength and calm demeanor.
Life-Changing Experience and Social Media Reflection
Following her departure, Sinitta took to Instagram to reflect on her journey, describing her time in South Africa as "life-changing" and expressing that she would cherish the memories forever. Her emotional post highlighted the profound impact the reality show had on her personal growth and self-perception.
Earlier Eviction of Ashley Roberts
Sinitta's exit followed the earlier eviction of Pussycat Dolls singer Ashley Roberts during the same episode. The American singer, who lasted 12 days in camp after previously coming runner-up in the 2012 Australian series, was eliminated after being the slowest to complete a puzzle during a challenge.
Roberts expressed being "gutted" about not reaching the final, telling Ant and Dec that she found the all-star series "really tough" compared to her first stint on the show. "The challenges and trials were really tough," she explained. "It wasn't just one eyeball, it wasn't just one smoothie. I mean, Craig (Charles) did 30 something shots of blood and guts and brain."
Campmate Camaraderie and Final Predictions
Despite the difficulties, Roberts expressed pride in facing her fears and praised her fellow campmates. "I loved them all. Everybody had their own magic," she said. "I feel really lucky being through this crazy experience with the group that I had." The singer also revealed her hope that Sir Mo Farah would be crowned king during Friday's highly anticipated finale.
