Selling Sunset's Nicole Young Claims Producers Forced Affair Confrontation
Selling Sunset Star: Producers Forced Affair Confrontation

Reality television star Nicole Young has made explosive claims about her experience on Netflix's hit property show Selling Sunset, alleging that producers forced her to confront castmate Emma Hernan with affair allegations during season eight.

Behind the Scenes Pressure

The 39-year-old television personality, who has experienced long-running conflicts with castmates Emma Hernan, 33, and Chrishell Stause, 44, opened up about the production pressures during an appearance on Reuben Hernandez-Valdez's podcast, Getting Real With Reuben.

During the cast's Pioneer Trip in the show's eighth season, viewers saw Nicole spread a rumour about Emma allegedly having an affair with a married man. However, Nicole now claims that producers had known about the affair claims for several months prior and repeatedly pressured her to bring the topic up during a dinner scene with Alanna Gold, Amanza Smith and Mary Bonnet.

Speaking about the awkward dinner scene, Nicole revealed: 'A lot of things happened in that moment that were not shown. In that moment, production had been aware of Jen saying this information for quite some time. Maybe six months to a year.'

Production Threats and Ultimatums

Nicole described how she repeatedly resisted producers' attempts to make her discuss the rumours, explaining she had limited information about the situation. 'I for so long kept saying "All I know is what Jen told me. If you guys want more information, you have to get this from Jen. I don't know who this person is. I don't know anything."'

The pressure allegedly intensified during the Pioneer Town trip, with producers telling Nicole they had footage of Jen confronting Emma at a party. Despite this, Nicole remained reluctant to get involved, telling producers: 'I know how this is going to work out for me. Like, this is not going to work out well. I'm not stupid.'

The situation reached a boiling point when producers became angry that the Pioneer Town trip might be wasted without dramatic content. Nicole claimed production removed the other three women from the table and sat across from her, attempting to manipulate her into saying Emma's name on camera.

'And then one of the producers starts screaming at me and says, "if you don't say this, your job on the show is in jeopardy. If you want a spot on the show, you have to say this. Do your job, Nicole, do your f*****g job."'

Explosive Girlsgiving Dinner Fallout

Elsewhere in the interview, Nicole discussed her ongoing conflict with Chrishell Stause and the explosive Girlsgiving Dinner that occurred in season nine. The Thanksgiving-style dinner, hosted by Amanza Smith as an attempt to reconcile differences, famously escalated into a heated argument between Chrishell and Nicole.

Following the dramatic row, Nicole was asked to leave the Oppenheim Group office later in the series. She now claims that producers edited out significant portions of Chrishell's behaviour during the dinner.

'They cut out Chrishell attacking me and Catherine even more than you saw. She went hard on Catherine, she went hard on both of us,' Nicole stated.

When asked why Chrishell would attack Catherine, Nicole suggested: 'Because anyone who potentially might join the show or is even just brought on for different scenes. That always seems to be a threat to Chrishell. She doesn't like it, and I think she also likes to make it clear, "hey, I'm the top b***h, you get in line or there's going to be some problems."'

Career Consequences and Office Fallout

The tensions between Chrishell and Nicole reached their peak in the latest season of Selling Sunset when Nicole made an insensitive comment about Chrishell's deceased parents during a fiery dinner party.

After Chrishell referenced prior accusations about Nicole's alleged drug overdose, Nicole retorted: 'Honey, you're confusing me with your parents, OK? You seem to be obsessed with drugs.'

The remark sparked immediate outrage among the cast, with Amanza Smith responding: 'I hope you are on drugs because this is f***ing inexcusable.' Emma Hernan labelled Nicole 'sick and evil' as the group of women united against their now-former co-star.

The controversy had serious professional consequences for Nicole, who was subsequently reprimanded by Oppenheim Group bosses Brett and Jason Oppenheim and ultimately fired from her position as a real estate agent at the prestigious brokerage.

Daily Mail has contacted Netflix, Nicole, Emma, and Chrishell's representatives for comment regarding these latest allegations about production practices on the hit reality series.
