Chrishell Stause has officially quit Netflix's 'Selling Sunset' after a turbulent Season 9, which saw her clash with co-star Nicole Young over a comment about her late parents. Stause told Variety that the reunion was 'so brutal' and made her realise she was 'done' with the show. 'It felt a little bit like a dog pile,' she said.
The season, which premiered on 29 October, included a heated argument at a Girlsgiving dinner where Nicole told Stause: 'You're confusing me with your parents, OK? You seem to be obsessed with drugs.' Stause's parents struggled with addiction, and she described the remark as 'unforgivable'. Nicole was subsequently ousted from the Oppenheim Group by bosses Jason and Brett Oppenheim, though she claims she was never fired.
Stause's friendship with Emma Hernan also soured after Emma introduced her boyfriend Blake Davis on the show. Stause publicly criticised Davis for saying 'pronouns are dumb' and 'likes using racial slurs', leading to an online feud. 'When I met him, there were so many red flags,' Stause said.
The cast member also had issues with Bre Tiesi, who allegedly used the term 'transvestite' about Stause's nonbinary partner G Flip. Tiesi was sued in April 2024 by former employees alleging a hostile work environment, but Stause said she 'tried to keep things professional' during filming.
Despite the drama, Stause said she 'liked this season' and felt 'happy and strong about the real estate aspect'. However, the reunion, filmed in August, changed her mind. 'I will be done here going forward,' she told Variety, later confirming her exit to Bustle. Netflix has not yet renewed the show for a tenth season.
