Television personality Scarlett Moffatt has officially been announced as the first celebrity contestant for this year's Strictly Come Dancing Christmas Special. The exciting news was broken during the Friday evening episode of the companion show, Strictly: It Takes Two, where Moffatt was a guest on the programme's Friday Panel.
A Festive Partnership
The 35-year-old presenter will be hitting the famous ballroom this December, where she will be paired with Strictly professional dancer Vito Coppola. Moffatt, who first found fame on the hit show Gogglebox with her family before winning I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here! in 2016, expressed her sheer delight at the opportunity.
She shared her excitement, stating: 'Strictly has always held a special place in my heart, so being part of the Christmas Special feels truly magical.' She went on to add, 'It's the show that brings everyone together around the TV, and being part of that is a genuine personal and career highlight. I'm sure it'll also introduce me to a few muscles I didn't know I had. I can't wait to live my best life on that dancefloor.'
The Glittering Christmas Battle
This year's festive edition will feature six celebrity couples competing for the coveted title of Strictly Christmas Champion 2024. The show will be hosted by the iconic duo Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman, who will be overseeing the proceedings for their final time together.
The judging panel, comprising Head Judge Shirley Ballas, Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse, and Anton Du Beke, will be on hand to deliver their expert critiques, seasonal goodwill, and perhaps the occasional critical comment. Ultimately, the winner will be decided by the votes of the studio audience.
A Winter Wonderland Spectacle
Viewers can anticipate a spectacular winter wonderland setting, complete with dazzling group performances and live music. The special is poised to be the perfect festive treat to enjoy after Christmas dinner. The next celebrity participant for the special is scheduled to be revealed on Monday via the Radio 2 Breakfast Show with Scott Mills.
