Scarlett Moffatt has been announced as the first celebrity contestant for the Strictly Come Dancing Christmas Special 2025, produced by BBC Studios and airing on BBC One and iPlayer this Christmas. The news was revealed live on Strictly: It Takes Two on Friday 21 November, where Moffatt appeared as a guest on the Friday Panel.
Moffatt will be partnered with professional dancer Vito Coppola when she takes to the dancefloor in the festive special. The TV personality first rose to fame on Gogglebox and won I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! in 2016. She has since presented several shows, including the BBC Sounds podcast Scarlett Moffatt Wants To Believe and the Channel 4 documentary Britain's Tourette's Mystery: Scarlett Moffatt Investigates.
Moffatt expressed her excitement, saying: 'Strictly has always held a special place in my heart, so being part of the Christmas Special feels truly magical. It's the show that brings everyone together around the TV, and being part of that is a genuine personal and career highlight.'
The Christmas Special will feature six couples competing to be crowned Christmas Champion. Hosts Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman will return, with judges Shirley Ballas, Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse, and Anton Du Beke providing commentary. The studio audience will decide the winner.
The next celebrity participant will be announced on the Radio 2 Breakfast Show with Scott Mills on Monday 24 November. The Strictly Come Dancing Christmas Special is commissioned by Kalpna Patel-Knight and executive produced by Sarah James.
