Sam, a 34-year-old account manager from North Yorkshire, has become the seventh contestant banished from the BBC reality show The Traitors. His departure followed a tense episode on Thursday night, where he was voted off by fellow contestants after grabbing the only shield during a task, which sparked suspicion.
Speaking on ITV's Lorraine, Sam admitted his decision to take the shield was a mistake. 'I just thought, you know what, I haven't had a shield so far. I just need one now,' he said. 'I wish I could just talk to myself in that moment and go, don't grab it. It looks weird. Take a breath.'
Adam, a 34-year-old builder from Essex, was also eliminated after being murdered by the traitors. He praised traitor Rachel, calling her 'brilliant at what she does' and predicting she could reach the final. 'She's got a really big following in there,' Adam said. 'People follow her around, and I can see her going to the final.'
Rachel, 42, from Newry, County Down, has remained under the radar as a traitor, despite being accused by fellow traitor Fiona last week. Fiona was later voted off after a dramatic confrontation. On Wednesday, faithful Harriet was banished after she publicly accused Rachel of being a traitor, which backfired and made others suspicious of her.
Following Adam and Sam's departures, traitors Rachel and Stephen decided to murder another player, declining to recruit a faithful. The fate of three shortlisted contestants—Jessie, Matthew, and Faraaz—was left hanging as Thursday's episode ended. The next victim will be revealed when the show continues on BBC One and iPlayer on Friday at 8pm.
