Rosalyn Yellin, one of the five main cast members in Netflix's new reality series Members Only: Palm Beach, endured a heartbreaking family tragedy before the show's release. The philanthropist announced earlier this year that her 103-year-old grandmother, a Holocaust survivor, had passed away.
In a statement shared on Instagram, Yellin wrote: 'It is with a heavy heart I’d like to share with you that my 103-year-old grandmother passed away peacefully. My grandmother was a Holocaust survivor. She was a very strong woman who fled the Nazis escaping and hiding throughout Europe and Turkey and finally made her way to Palestine. She was caught several times taken to camps and even jail.'
Yellin continued: 'She had deep scars in her back from being whipped and her scars haunted me as a child. After the war, she reunited with my grandfather who had helped her flee the Nazis. While working with the Jewish underground to help save lives during the Holocaust, my grandfather was captured and taken to Auschwitz. Days away from death, he was liberated by the Americans.'
Yellin shared that her grandmother left a 'legacy' of six grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and four great, great grandchildren. On the show, Yellin reveals it was her lifelong dream to move to Palm Beach after raising her five children. She has now spent five seasons in the region, hosting fundraising events and spending time with her mentor, Gale Brophy.
