Prime Video's crime drama 'Reacher' has returned for its fourth season with a three-episode premiere, and fans are already hailing it as the 'best show ever'. The series, starring Alan Ritchson, follows a former U.S. Army military police major who takes on dangerous criminals.
Based on Lee Child's Novel
The new season is based on the thirteenth novel in Lee Child's series, 'Gone Tomorrow'. The remaining episodes will be released weekly. The show has already been renewed for a fifth season, with filming underway.
Prime Video teased the new season: "A chance encounter with a distraught stranger on a Philadelphia subway car draws Jack Reacher into a deadly mystery involving a missing flash drive that contains secrets worth killing for."
Fans React to Shocking Premiere
Fans took to X to share their thoughts on the premiere. One fan said, "The first 10 mins of this episode is cooking," while on Rotten Tomatoes, it was described as the "best show ever made that gets better with each season". Another fan commented, "WOW, what a return," and a third added, "Now that was an interesting entrance to episode one."
The opening episodes include a jaw-dropping moment where a woman shoots herself on a train in front of Reacher. "You're a cop?" she asks Reacher. "No one can help me now," she says before pulling the trigger. One viewer joked, "Starting the season like this is diabolical."
New Characters and What's Next
The first three episodes introduce new characters, including detective Tamara Green (Sydelle Noel), Jacob Merrick (Christopher Rodriguez Marquette), and Elsbeth (Kathleen Robertson). Ritchson told TV Insider the new season "just keeps getting crazier".
Reacher season 4 episodes 1-3 are now on Prime Video, with the remaining five episodes airing weekly.
