Love Island star Maura Higgins has admitted to accidentally throwing away the camp’s rice and beans, further fuelling tensions in the I’m A Celebrity jungle after a major camp revamp.
The blunder occurred after the latest Bushtucker Trial, which saw Dean McCullough, Danny Jones, and Alan Halsall compete in the Rank Bank challenge. The trial determined how much money each team would have to spend on essentials like showers, meals, and the dunny, with a new turnstile system charging $10 per use.
Upon returning to camp, Oti Mabuse and Reverend Richard Coles discovered the rice and beans were missing. They soon realised Maura had mistakenly disposed of them with the rubbish. The pair managed to retrieve the provisions from the waste bins.
Maura later confessed in the Bush Telegraph: “I didn’t throw the rice and beans in the rubbish on purpose or anything… It was a complete accident.”
The incident adds to existing friction caused by Dean McCullough’s perceived avoidance of chores. Melvin Odoom jokingly called him ‘Houdini’ after Dean was seen showering while others carried water, prompting Danny Jones to quip: “Is Houdini with him?”
