Love Island star Mica Harris has issued an apology after a heated confrontation following her departure from the show. The 21-year-old was among the original line-up for the 13th series and spent her stint paired with Samraj Toor, whom she described as someone she is "absolutely obsessed and smitten" with.
Voted off by dumped Islanders
Mica and Samraj were voted off by all previously dumped Islanders, who returned to voice opinions on who didn't deserve a spot in the final. Dumped Islander Charleen Murphy confronted Mica about remarks made behind her back after a recoupling.
Addressing the situation, Mica admitted: "I honestly had forgotten I'd made that comment. It was a very heat of the moment, with so many emotions." She added, "I know it hurt Charleen, and that's upsetting. I don't like making people feel bad. My actions have put down another woman, and that's not nice."
Apology to Priya
Mica also expressed regret for upsetting Priya after Movie Night revealed a covert discussion with Samraj about Priya before they recoupled. Describing the clips as 'so awkward', she said: "Honestly, Movie Night was so overwhelming. It really upset me because I know it hurt Priya, and I love and appreciate Priya so much as a friend. I say all the time I couldn't have done this without her."
She continued: "She genuinely was my rock. It really does hurt that I upset her. Forget about me, it was more so, how did Priya feel at that moment? That's what really had me. I hated seeing her like that."
Regret over reunion handling
Mica admitted she could have managed the build-up to reuniting with Samraj better, saying: "I completely misread Priya and I'm really apologetic to her in that sense. She's actually the most understanding person, I think, in the entire Villa. The second time around, I knew for a fact how I felt and I let all my walls down. Now it's completely worked out because we're in love. It's crazy."
Love Island continues tonight at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX.
