Meghan Markle's strict dessert rule for Archie and Lilibet

Meghan Markle has revealed a strict rule in her household when it comes to dessert. The Duchess of Sussex shared the insight during her appearance as a guest judge on MasterChef Australia, which aired on Sunday but was filmed in April during the Sussexes' visit to Australia.

Brussels sprouts and dessert rules

During the episode, Meghan disclosed that both her children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, enjoy eating Brussels sprouts. “My kids eat Brussels sprouts,” she said, prompting an impressed exclamation from someone off-camera.

She then detailed the dessert policy in their Montecito, California, kitchen: “If they say, ‘Mama, can I have dessert?’ We say, ‘If you can pick it, you can have it.’” When judge Sofia Levin joked, “You can’t pick chocolate!” Meghan replied, “No, you can’t pick chocolate, but you can pick a nice piece of fruit.”

Harry's spice tolerance and charm

Meghan also commented on contestant Aaron Kher’s dish, noting it had “too much” spice for her husband, Prince Harry. After Harry greeted the group with a “G’Day” via phone, Meghan remarked, “He’s a charmer, isn’t he?”
