Another couple from the latest series of Married at First Sight UK has called it quits, with Keye Luke confirming his separation from Davide Anica in a bombshell statement.
The pair, who were one of the experiment's most promising couples, exchanged emotional final vows on the E4 show and appeared together during the recent reunion episodes. However, their relationship has since collapsed.
The Statement That Confirmed the Split
Keye Luke has publicly addressed the breakdown of his marriage, issuing a candid statement. In it, he confessed to a specific action that shattered the trust in their relationship.
Keye admitted to downloading the dating app Grindr in the early hours of a Sunday morning while Davide was on a flight. He was quick to clarify his intentions, stating, "I wasn't there looking to cheat, hook up, or find anyone else."
Instead, he explained he was in a "really dark place" at the time and turned to an unhealthy coping mechanism to numb his feelings. "It had nothing to do with wanting someone else," he said, "it was about trying to... escape what I was feeling."
A Broken Trust and a Lost Marriage
Despite his stated intentions, Keye fully acknowledged the impact of his decision. "I know how it looked, and I know it broke trust," his statement reads. "Even if my intentions weren't sexual, I still crossed a line."
The situation came to a head when Davide discovered Keye's profile on the app. "Davide found me with his profile and it cost me my marriage," Keye revealed, expressing regret that his actions made Davide believe he was looking for someone else.
This confession marks a stark contrast to the couple's portrayal on the show, where they were seen as a strong pair. During their final vows, Davide had told Keye, "I have never had anyone make me feel as wanted and desired as you do."
Another MAFS UK Couple Parts Ways
Keye and Davide are not the only couple from the series to have split since the experiment ended. The article also confirms that Reiss Boyce and Leisha Lightbody have ended their relationship.
Reiss explained the reasons for their breakup during the reunion special, citing comments Leisha made about a footballer messaging her and her subsequent behaviour on a night out as key factors that led him to call things off.
Married at First Sight UK remains available for streaming on Channel 4's website.
