MAFS UK's Davide Breaks Silence on 'Painful' Split from Keye
MAFS UK's Davide speaks out on painful split from Keye

Married at First Sight UK star Davide Anica has publicly addressed his painful separation from co-star Keye Luke for the first time, five months after their split.

The Breakdown of a TV Marriage

The E4 reality couple, who were matched and married upon first meeting, became firm fan favourites as viewers watched their bond strengthen throughout the series. Despite making it to the end of the experiment and presenting a united front during the reunion specials, Keye confirmed their separation in an emotional statement last week.

In his explanation, Keye revealed he had downloaded Grindr in the early hours of a Sunday morning while Davide was on a flight. Keye stated he was not looking to cheat, hook up, or find someone else, but was in a dark and fragile place, reaching for something unhealthy to cope with emotions he couldn't process. He admitted this action cost him his marriage when Davide discovered his profile.

Davide's Side of the Story

Now, Davide has taken to social media to share his perspective on the events that unfolded five months ago. In a lengthy statement, he admitted to acting on a gut feeling that something wasn't right.

Davide confessed he created a Grindr profile himself, out of insecurity, to check if Keye was on the app. He was devastated to discover his suspicions were correct. That moment broke the trust between them in a way he simply could not overcome, leading to the end of their relationship.

Despite the initial shock and deep hurt, Davide confirmed he has since healed and found peace. Both men expressed respect and love for one another in their respective statements.

Support from Co-stars and Another MAFS Split

Their MAFS UK co-stars quickly rushed to offer messages of support. Abi Lindsay penned a heartfelt note calling Davide one of the most genuine and kind people she knows, while Leigh Harris praised him for navigating the situation with kindness and compassion.

The couple are not the only fan favourites from the show to have now parted ways. Rebecca Fen and Bailey Smith also confirmed their separation last week, with Bailey admitting it had been ridiculously hard watching their love story unfold on television and that they tried their best to navigate life after the experiment.
