Married at First Sight UK star Davide Anica has issued a statement addressing his split from Keye Luke, describing the breakup as 'painful' and revealing the trust between them was broken beyond repair.
The couple, who were fan favourites on the E4 reality show, wed at first sight and appeared to have a strong relationship throughout the series. However, Keye announced their separation last week, following the broadcast of the reunion episodes.
In his statement, Davide explained that five months ago, he created a profile on Grindr out of insecurity and discovered Keye was also on the app. 'That moment was painful and it made the trust between us break in a way I couldn't move past,' he wrote. Keye had previously admitted to downloading Grindr while Davide was on a flight, stating he was in a 'dark and fragile place'.
Despite the split, both men expressed mutual respect and affection. Fellow MAFS UK contestants, including Abi Lindsay and Leigh Harris, offered messages of support. The couple are not the only ones to have parted ways; Rebecca Fen and Bailey Smith also announced their breakup last week.
