Former Married At First Sight UK contestant Gemma Rose Barnes has officially married her partner, Jordan Bish, in a Las Vegas ceremony. The 32-year-old reality star shared the happy news on Instagram on Friday, posting photos from outside the iconic Little White Wedding Chapel.
A Sin City Celebration
The newlyweds, who became parents to a son, Franklin James Anthony Bishop, in March 2024, were pictured beaming with joy. In one image, Jordan lifted Gemma into the air outside the famous 24-hour drive-up wedding window. For the ceremony, Gemma wore a stunning strapless white wedding dress featuring a lace skirt and a mesh scarf, accessorised with a tiara and nude heels. Jordan looked sharp in a classic black tuxedo.
Later in the celebrations, the bride changed into a second glamorous square-neck lace gown, showcasing her significant weight loss transformation. The couple capped off their night with a mirror selfie in a lift, where Jordan was seen tenderly wrapping his blazer around Gemma's shoulders and carrying her heels. They captioned their post simply: 'MR & MRS BISHOP'.
From TV Turmoil to Personal Triumph
Gemma's journey to this happy moment has been fraught with difficulty. She appeared on the E4 dating show in 2022, where she was paired with barber Matt Murray in a union she has since described as 'extremely ill-fated'. Gemma has claimed the experience led to a breakdown, panic attacks, and that she felt 'slut-shamed' by the show's edit, particularly over a false allegation about her behaviour in a restaurant.
After leaving the programme, Gemma's life spiralled. She has openly discussed a severe cocaine addiction, revealing she was spending £1,000 a day on drugs, which led to homelessness and bankruptcy. She told The Cabin Recovery podcast that she lost her family home and had to stay in temporary accommodation with her children.
A New Chapter of Health and Happiness
Since committing to recovery, Gemma has rebuilt her life. She travelled to Turkey to undergo gastric sleeve surgery, a procedure she says has not harmed her fertility. She announced her pregnancy with Jordan in November 2023, sharing that she had to snack frequently to maintain a healthy weight for the baby.
Gemma is also a mother to two children from a previous relationship: Ozzy, 12, and Cash, 5. She has stated that gaining a 'supportive and kind partner' in Jordan has been pivotal to her recovery and happiness. Reflecting on her past, she expressed remorse for the impact her addiction had on her family but is now focused on the future. In her own words, she feels she has finally 'got my happily ever after.'
