Married At First Sight Australia couple Joel Moses and Juliette Chae have puzzled viewers with their sudden turnaround from constant bickering to affectionate behaviour during the retreat. Now, the pair have revealed that an unaired date night involving a pub crawl sparked their renewed connection.
Juliette, 27, told Daily Mail Australia that the couple went out on a Friday night, hitting four different pubs. She described the evening as the first time they shared a 'real passionate kiss', adding that it was 'giddy and excited and silly'. The date was not filmed by the MAFS camera crew, leaving fans unaware of the shift.
Joel, 31, confirmed his wife's account, saying they went pub crawling and later returned to their apartment, where they 'hooked up a bit and got closer'. Two days later, they had another date night watching movies, and Joel admitted 'things were getting better'.
Juliette noted that by the time they went on the retreat, they were 'all cuddled up, kissy-wissy, giggly', which surprised the other cast members. The couple had previously clashed at dinner parties, with Juliette branding Joel 'embarrassing' and 'unattractive', while Joel questioned her 'cruel' behaviour.
The unaired date explains the dramatic change in their dynamic, which had left viewers confused. Whether the harmony will last remains to be seen as the series continues.
