Married At First Sight Australia's Gia Fleur has a history of pursuing fame, with fans uncovering her multiple attempts to break into showbiz over the years. The disability care worker, who married Scott McCristal on the 2026 series, has previously gone by up to 12 different names and undergone several makeovers in her bid for stardom.
Gia, born Cassandra Lee Bassett, has dabbled in modelling, acting, singing, and even rap. She once shot for Playboy and attended Hugh Hefner's mansion parties as a bunny. She also appeared in a French Montana music video for the song 'Freak' featuring Nicki Minaj, dancing in the background. A fan claimed to have found a rap song she performed under the name Goldie Volpe.
Gia has addressed her name changes, telling Daily Mail Australia they were due to a domestic violence situation. She said: 'It’s a very sensitive topic, I actually changed my name because of a domestic violence situation I was in... So people bringing that up as something to laugh about and joke about is not okay.'
Resurfaced photos show Gia looking almost unrecognisable as a brunette with a different nose and smaller lips. She has been open about cosmetic work, asking intruder groom Joel Moses on the show: 'What is wrong with having a face full of plastic?'
A source told Woman’s Day: 'Gia always wanted to be famous. She has been trying to crack it for years, trying her hand at everything from acting, modelling, singing, pageants, dancer, and even pursuing a rap career at one point. So it’s no surprise to me that she ended up on MAFS.'
