Married At First Sight Australia has been thrown into chaos following a groom's controversial remark that left the experts utterly stunned. In the latest episode aired on April 30, the cast gathered for another explosive dinner party, continuing the drama from homestays week.
Homestays Week Fallout
During the dinner party, couples reflected on their homestays experiences. When asked about their time together, Bec responded positively, saying: "We had such a good homestays didn't we?" However, Danny countered: "Well we had two perfect things then we had a little argument at the end."
Bec described it as a "ding dong," while Danny confessed he felt "a bit out of place at the house." He added that the homestays prompted him to "look at things a different way" and expressed uncertainty about navigating a move to Adelaide "as a man."
Controversial Comment Sparks Outrage
Danny continued: "It's more Bec's house than it is mine." But his next words left the room astonished: "It makes you feel a bit of a b**** moving in with a woman." The experts were taken aback, with Mel observing: "He's talking about feeling emasculated if he moves into the house." She criticised his choice of words, and the room appeared divided.
While many men echoed the sentiment of feeling emasculated, the women were astounded. Rachel told producers: "Grow up." Viewers also shared their shock on social media. One wrote: "So that's your insecurity Danny, grow up." Another commented: "I get what Danny means tbh but his delivery is terrible." A third remarked: "Whyyyy would he think it's okay to call it a 'b***' move?!"
Others were more critical: "Oh Danny that was a s***** thing to say, just say you're jealous that Bec can afford a better home than you." Another added: "Danny why not bring this up with Bec during home stays? Mate, just break up with her, you don't want her. Stop making up these excuses."
One viewer suggested: "It's 2026, can they just find a place together instead? Or you know, pay for a place equally as Danny could easily just go 'I'd like to pay my share of the mortgage etc.'"
Later, Bec spoke to producers, revealing Danny had not raised his concerns with her. She referenced her multimillion-dollar home with a $97,000 mortgage and confessed she felt "betrayed."
Married At First Sight Australia airs Monday to Thursday at 7:30 pm on E4.
