Love on the Spectrum's Longest-Running Couple Abbey Romeo and David Isaacman Part Ways

In a development that has saddened fans, Abbey Romeo and David Isaacman, the beloved couple from the Netflix reality series Love on the Spectrum, have reportedly ended their romance after nearly five years together. The pair, who both have autism, were celebrated as the show's longest-running couple, having captured hearts with their heartwarming chemistry and stable relationship.

Differing Timelines on Marriage Led to Split

According to sources close to the couple, the split was primarily due to conflicting views on when to take the next step in their relationship. "They couldn’t come to an agreement on when to get married. She was ready years ago, he still needed time," an insider revealed to the US Sun, confirming the breakup. A separate source close to Isaacman, 31, stated that the relationship has concluded, adding that "he is doing very well" following the separation.

A Journey from First Date to Public Adoration

Romeo and Isaacman first met on camera in July 2021, with their inaugural date taking place at the San Diego Zoo Safari Park. Their connection quickly resonated with viewers, who were moved by moments such as Romeo writing and performing a song for Isaacman, where she sweetly noted her preference for gummy bears over flowers. She affectionately called him "the milk to my Chardonnay," referencing his playful participation in wine tastings despite favouring milk.

Mixed Signals on Marriage Ambitions

Over the seasons, Romeo had openly hinted at marriage prospects, expressing hope a year ago for a wedding at the Maasai Mara National Reserve in Kenya during a Buzzfeed interview. However, in the recently released fourth season of Love on the Spectrum, which premiered on Netflix last week, Romeo, 27, appeared to downplay immediate plans. She remarked that neither she nor Isaacman was intent on exchanging vows at that stage, stating they considered themselves "already married in our hearts." Romeo further explained, "I don’t want to be a divorced lady like my mom, so that’s why I don’t want to rush it, take my time to get married."

Yet, when co-stars Tyler White and Madison Marilla got engaged during the same season, Romeo couldn't help but exclaim, "Hopefully we’re next!" showcasing the complexity of her feelings.

Praise and Shared Memories

In a joint interview with her mother Christine for the podcast We Need to Talk two weeks ago, Romeo showered Isaacman with praise. "He says things that make me feel good," she said when asked what she admired about him. "He covers my ears when there's a certain noise I don't like." The couple enjoyed numerous outings together, including visits to the Griffith Observatory, the Los Angeles Zoo, Universal Studios, and Disneyland, creating cherished memories that fans will fondly remember.

As the news of their split circulates, supporters of the show are reflecting on the couple's journey, from that first zoo date to their final public appearances, marking the end of a significant chapter in the Love on the Spectrum narrative.
