Love Island's Robyn Langton Says Scouser Charm Was Too Much for Boys
Love Island's Robyn: No One Can Handle a Scouser

Robyn Langton, the 21-year-old Love Island contestant from Huyton, has declared that the boys on the show simply could not handle her Scouse spirit. In an exclusive interview with the ECHO, she said, "No one can handle a Scouser." Despite not finding romance, Robyn left the Mallorcan villa after 10 days with a renewed appreciation for her Liverpool roots.

Instant Connection with Producers

Robyn, a quantity surveyor and DJ, applied for the ITV2 show in February. She received a call from producers just one day after sending in her video application. "I applied on a Sunday and on the Monday I was sat in work and they called me," she recalled. "Obviously, I have a huge personality and you can see that through the phone anyway, so they just kind of got the vibe." Her confidence paid off, and she was selected as one of the original islanders from thousands of applicants.

Proud to Be a Scouser

During her time in the villa, Robyn found that her accent and rapid speech often left other islanders struggling to keep up. "They all loved me being a Scouser, but no one could understand me," she said. "Me and my best friend Ellie is Scottish. So we were the only people that could understand each other." She taught her fellow islanders Scouse slang, and they were positive about her accent. "It made me feel proud to be a Scouser to be honest because everyone was so positive about it. Apart from not understanding me- they know Scousers do it best."

Robyn emphasised the strong sense of community among Liverpudlians. "Scousers have each other's backs, we always do. Coming out and seeing how many people have messaged me like, even like past islanders and Scousers sending messages of support. It's just been amazing." She added, "I feel like coming out has made me appreciate it more to be honest."

No Romantic Spark

Robyn did not find a romantic connection on the show, but she remains unfazed. "I just think it's because they can't handle me. No one can handle a Scouser that's all it is," she joked. She felt it was the right time to leave: "I was 100% ready to go, you spend 24 hours a day with people and we were still getting to know each other. It's a high intensity environment and it was definitely my time to go, I strutted out that place and I was true to myself."

Life After the Villa

Since leaving the show, Robyn has been busy with interviews and podcasts. "I've been in London the whole time. Just been doing interviews, podcasts. It's been wild, to say the least. I love it. I can literally talk for England so I'm having an absolutely ball and taking every opportunity as it comes," she said. Despite the short stint, Robyn made a lasting impression on viewers and is excited for what comes next.
