Love Island fans were left stunned as Harrison announced his departure from the villa during Friday's episode, choosing to follow Lauren after she was dumped from the show the previous night. The 22-year-old had been involved in a love triangle with Toni and Lauren, but ultimately decided to pursue a relationship with Lauren on the outside.
Lauren was booted out after new bombshell Angel coupled up with her partner Ty, leaving Lauren single. A shocked Harrison asked Lauren if she would give their relationship another go, and she agreed, prompting him to promise he would leave with her. After sleeping on it, Harrison told fellow Islanders Harry and Dejon he had made up his mind and wanted to make Lauren his girlfriend.
Gathering the Islanders around the firepit, an emotional Harrison said goodbye, stating: 'Prior to the Villa I wanted to find a girlfriend, someone I want to introduce to my family and I think I’ve found that…. Mine and Lauren’s connection was something special.' He also apologised to Toni for how he treated her, with Toni tearfully pleading him not to treat Lauren the same way.
Fans reacted with shock on social media, with one posting: 'HARRISON GONE?' and another questioning how a Miami-UK relationship could work. Toni was left in tears, asking: 'How many more times do I make someone a better person for somebody else?' However, she later appeared to make amends with Cach.
