Dumped Love Island stars Robyn and Ope have spilled an 'inside scoop' on a strict villa rule regarding alcohol that may leave viewers stunned. In a video posted on social media, the former contestants revealed that producers allow only two glasses of alcohol per evening, but this year the rule has become even more stringent.
Two Glasses, But Often Only One
Robyn explained: 'It was a joke but I'll give you the inside scoop on the alcohol in the villa. So obviously, you get two glasses of wine a night, but sometimes you only had one didn't you? Most nights you didn't even get the two.' Ope demonstrated the tiny amount of beer or wine they were permitted, adding: 'It's not a lot but it gets you a bit buzzy. Like 'oh I feel like an argument'.'
Fan Reactions Divided
The alcohol rule has long divided Love Island viewers. One fan posted on social media: 'Hear me out, #LoveIsland but the contestants have access to their phones and their regular, unrestricted vices eg alcohol.' Another wrote: 'give them MORE ALCOHOL.' However, a third commented: 'Oi Love Island needs to ban the alcohol again, how has everyone's lost their heads??'
Robyn also disclosed that red wine was Aidan's drink of choice, with Islanders quickly following his lead when they realised it had the best effect. The revelations come as tensions continue to mount in the villa, with Tommy and Tina brutally eliminated yesterday evening following a twist.
