Devoted Love Island followers have voiced their worries about a star they insist has vanished, going as far as demanding answers about their whereabouts. The star in question is Bristol-born presenter Maya Jama, who has been noticeably absent from the Spanish villa after appearing only in the opening episode.
Fans Demand Answers Over Maya Jama's Disappearance
During the latest episodes, viewers have witnessed the outcome of the inaugural public vote, which led to the elimination of bombshells Tommy and Tina after a harsh twist. However, fans have shifted their focus to Maya Jama, who has barely been seen since the first episode. One fan posted on social media: "Has Maya only stepped into the Villa once this season? Where is she?" Another questioned: "Where the hell is Maya Jama and why have you not entered the villa? Like, girl Ariana enters the villa like every other day."
A third viewer queried: "Is Maya on annual leave this season?" while another remarked: "Maya Jama hasn't even visited since she dropped them off and they're locked off?? What the hell is going on?"
Maya's Social Media Shows Travel, Not Villa Visits
Although Maya posted behind-the-scenes snaps from the first episode of Love Island's 13th series on her Instagram, she hasn't been spotted in the villa since. Over the past week, her posts have shown her enjoying time in Ibiza, followed by a London pub for an England World Cup match. Her latest update saw her back at the airport, sparking hope among fans that she might be returning to their screens.
Despite her absence from the villa, Maya has been hosting Love Island Aftersun, which airs on ITV2 each Sunday, filmed from a studio just outside London. Love Island continues tonight at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX.
