During the July 1 episode, Simba chose to recouple with Mara, prompting immediate backlash on social media. One viewer wrote: 'love mara, simba needs to get out, doesn't deserve either woman or any to be fair.' Another added: 'simba i promise you you're not touching that 50k.' A third demanded: 'GIVE US A PUBLIC VOTE TO GET SIMBA OUTTTTT.'
Former Love Island winner Toni Laites expressed her anger on the Debrief show, stating: 'If I didn't hate Simba already, I hate his guts now. Are we joking?' Yasmine Pettett criticized his mixed signals, noting: 'He was kissing her outside of challenges, being lovey dovey, then when it got to the bed situation, he's telling her "oh I'm thinking about Angie".'
