Love Island stars Dejon and Meg have taken a significant step in their relationship following their early exit from the villa, sharing a photo with Meg's mother at the airport after returning from Spain. The couple, who were dumped before the final after being accused of a showmance, posted a snap on Instagram showing them looking loved-up alongside Meg's mum.
Dejon captioned the image, which Meg reposted: 'I said one of the first things I wanted to do when I got back home was speak to Meg's mum and there she was, waiting to greet us at the airport. Some woman for one woman.' The meeting came after a tense Family Reunion episode where Meg's mum and sister branded Dejon a 'player', though Meg defended him.
The couple were booted off the show on Sunday night after a group of 18 ex-Islanders voted them out, alongside Angel and Ty, who were deemed the least compatible by viewers. Meg and Dejon received the most votes from their peers, leading to their departure just days before the final.
Speaking to host Maya Jama on Aftersun, Dejon admitted he 'wasn't shocked' to leave after a heated argument during their final date. 'I knew people might not like that, but I know what we have is real and in real relationships you have disagreements,' he said. Meg echoed his sentiments, adding they 'weren't surprised' given the timing.
Dejon also addressed accusations of having a game plan, stating: 'Coming in, I just thought, I'm on Love Island. I'm gonna explore connections, I'm gonna be flirty, I'm gonna see what my strongest connection was. But it was always Meg.'
