Kelvin Fletcher marked the "end of an era" ahead of his new series of Fletcher's Family Farm. The moment comes after Kelvin struggled to hold back tears in the latest episode of the ITV series.
Kelvin's Instagram Farewell
On Wednesday (July 22), the former Emmerdale actor, who runs his Cheshire Farm with his wife Liz and four kids, shared a message with his followers. Posting a photograph of Liz positioned in front of their family tractor, he wrote: "End of an era. Bye-bye to this today [crying emoji]. Upgrade pending..."
He clarified matters 40 minutes later with a picture of his tractor being driven out of his barn, adding: "Of course I meant the tractor [cry-laughing emoji]."
New Series Confirmed
The tractor farewell comes on the back of some exciting news for fans of the show, after ITV confirmed two brand new series of Fletcher's Family Farm back in June. The series has proved a tremendous success, with audiences eager to follow the family's exploits on their 120-acre farm, and four series have now been broadcast.
Upon confirmation of the two new series, Kelvin and Liz commented: "We're delighted to be returning for series five and six. What started as a simple desire to share our family's journey has grown into something far bigger than we ever imagined."
Emotional Milestone
It is not clear when the new series will air, but ITV has also been airing repeats of the Fletchers' series, and in the latest episode, Liz and Kelvin got emotional after their daughter, Marnie, reached an exciting milestone. In the programme, Kelvin and Marnie competed for the first time in the Royal Cheshire Show with their cows Cherry and Sonic.
After winning a rosette and coming in first place, Kelvin struggled to contain his emotions. He said, "Oh, I can't explain the emotions I'm feeling. I felt just immense....I was really nervous when I first went out. More nervous for Marnie, and Marnie said to me that she was scared, and he broke my heart."
"And I just said, 'Come on, push through it, embrace the fear, and she did so well." As the Fletcher family embraced, Kelvin emotionally told his daughter, "I was so proud. I was gonna cry."
