Katie Price has reportedly stunned the cast and crew of her daughter Princess's ITV2 show, The Princess Diaries, by turning up to filming with a bloodied and bruised appearance. The 48-year-old former glamour model recently underwent corrective lip surgery in Brussels to remove scar tissue caused by migrated lip filler, and her post-operative look is said to have horrified those on set.
A source told The Sun: "The cast and crew were horrified. She looked a right state. Princess is used to her mum’s antics but a lot of people were really shocked." The source added that the move seemed like an attention-grabbing ploy, saying: "It seemed like an attention-grabbing move to make people talk about her – like she can’t bear to be out of the spotlight for one moment."
However, a representative for Katie defended her, stating: "Kate has been enjoying filming and has built a really positive relationship with the crew. She remains focused on her work and commitments." Katie, who has children Junior, 21, and Princess, 18, with ex-husband Peter Andre, did not appear on camera during the first episode but has a starring role in upcoming episodes.
On her podcast, The Katie Price Show, Katie revealed she underwent the procedure awake, without anaesthetic. She later shared a selfie on Instagram showing her swollen and bruised lips, telling followers to "trust the process." She said: "Hey guys, yes, before you start, I know what I look like. Yesterday, I was in Brussels and I had all the scar tissue taken out of my lips so they're really swollen at the moment."
Despite the swelling, Katie attended the premiere of her Sky Original documentary, Katie Price: Nothing to Hide, in London, where her lips appeared less swollen and a scar was visible below her nose. She wore a figure-hugging black dress and platform heels. Katie also hinted at future surgery, saying in a clip: "Oh my God, my nose still looks wonky, but I'm going to have a nose job."
