Professional dancer Jowita Przystal has been forced to issue a clarification to her fans, firmly denying rumours that she is leaving Strictly Come Dancing. The speculation began after a seemingly innocent Instagram post following the show's emotional finale on Saturday night.
Social Media Post Sparks Panic
The 31-year-old dancer, who joined the show in 2021 and won in her first year with partner Hamza Yassin, shared a sweet backstage selfie with her celebrity partner from the series, Ross King. The pair were reunited for the final group dance. However, it was her caption that sent fans into a frenzy: 'last dance partner on strictly floor x @therossking'.
Followers quickly flooded social media with concerned questions, asking if this was her final year on the BBC programme and whether she was hinting at a departure. The ambiguous wording led to widespread worry among her supporters.
Jowita's Swift Clarification
By Sunday morning, Jowita moved to clear up the confusion. Returning to her Instagram Stories, she explained it was simply a case of miswording. She had intended to express that it was her last dance with Ross King, not her last dance on the show altogether.
Sharing a group photo of the professional dancers, she wrote: 'So grateful for being part of the best show on tv. And just to clarify my last post, it was about my last dance with Ross, not me leaving the show. Hopefully far from my last dance on that dance floor'.
Praise for Champions and Emotional Farewells
Jowita also used her Instagram grid to heap praise on the newly crowned 2025 Strictly champions, former footballer Karen Carney and professional dancer Carlos Gu. She shared a video of their winning moment and penned heartfelt tributes to both, calling Carlos a 'true artist' and commending Karen's 'infectious' positive energy.
Her posts included congratulations to all the finalists and a particularly emotional tribute to departing hosts Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman. Jowita wrote: 'To @tessdaly and @claudiawinkle, thank you so much for all your support, love, and kindness. You truly are Strictly, and I will miss you so much.'
The finale marked the end of an era, as Tess and Claudia hosted their final show after 21 years. The episode featured numerous tributes, including a surprise letter from Queen Camilla, read by judge Craig Revel Horwood, which praised the hosts' 'warmth, compassion, and sheer happiness'.
Concluding her series of messages, Jowita thanked Ross King again and expressed her gratitude to the entire Strictly family, signing off with the show's iconic phrase: 'Keeeep Dancing.'
