The jungle welcomed its newest celebrities with a truly stomach-churning initiation on Monday night, as the first Bushtucker Trial of the series pushed contestants to their absolute limits.
A Gruesome Challenge Begins
Dubbed 'The Divey', the trial saw two campmates, Angry Ginge and Ruby Wax, face a menu of some of the world's most revolting delicacies. Their mission was simple: eat everything put in front of them to win precious stars for their hungry camp.
For Ginge, the challenge was a relentless assault on his senses. His platter included a dish of live cockroaches and mealworms called 'Cryer Jama', followed by the unappetising 'Russell Toe', which was in fact a camel toe. The final hurdle was the ominously named 'Benedict Bum-berbatch', revealed to be a crocodile's anus, which caused the contestant significant visible distress and constant retching.
Ruby Wax's Unforgiving Menu
Comedian Ruby Wax faced a similarly horrifying spread. She started with a witchety grub dubbed 'Grimothy Chalomet', moved on to a cow's teet named 'Ronan Teeting', and sampled 'Dame Spew-dy Dench', a portion of vomit fruits. Her final, shocking dish was 'The Knob Beckett', which was a bull's penis.
Despite the gruelling nature of the challenge, Ruby managed to maintain her trademark humour throughout the ordeal, even making a witty remark about pregnancy to lighten the mood.
A Triumphant, If Nauseating, Victory
Through sheer willpower and determination, both Angry Ginge and Ruby Wax successfully powered through all ten rounds of the trial. Their monumental effort meant they secured a full house, winning all ten stars for their fellow campmates.
The trial, which aired on Monday 17 November 2025 at 22:30 GMT on ITV, has set a high bar for gruesomeness early in the series, promising more shocking challenges to come.
