Fans will be able to watch the funeral of Welsh music icon Bonnie Tyler online through a live stream, and details of how to sign up to receive a viewing 'ticket' have been confirmed.
A number of special events are being held over the coming days as Wales prepares to say goodbye to a legend. The Total Eclipse of the Heart singer, who was born Gaynor Hopkins, died in hospital in Portugal on July 8 at the age of 75.
Her funeral will be held on Monday, August 17, and details have been released confirming how people will be able to watch it online - with fans told they will need to sign up in advance.
Procession through Mumbles on Saturday
Ahead of the funeral, mourners have been invited to line the streets to pay their respects as Tyler's coffin makes its way through Mumbles to her home on Saturday, August 15. Tyler is currently resting at William Pressdee Funeralcare in Mumbles and will return to her home in Llwynderw on Saturday. The hearse will depart at approximately 3.15pm, travelling along Newton Road before continuing onto Mumbles Road.
A celebration of life will then be held at Swansea Minster (St Mary's Church) on Monday, at around noon, which will be available for people to stream live online.
How to sign up for the live stream
The funeral directors have advised that those wishing to watch the service online will need to follow the link and set themselves up as a user on the platform beforehand. Once you make an account, you will be able to sign up to receive a free 'ticket' to the stream, which will be received through an email to the address linked to your account.
On the live stream, fans will be able to leave well wishes using a live chat feature. Any donations made in the stream will be passed to Noah's Ark Children's Hospital and Cerebral Palsy Cymru, two charities Tyler was patron of, at the request of her family.
The funeral directors have also said that this is the only live stream available and at no point will any payment be requested – if directed to a site that requests payment then do not do so.
Final journey through Skewen
The service will be broadcast outside the church on television screens, with entry in to Swansea Minster limited for family, friends and invited guests only. The service is expected to last approximately one hour.
Following the service, the singer will make a final journey through her hometown of Skewen at approximately 1.20pm before a strictly private family committal and farewell service. The route from Swansea will be along Fabian Way to Ashleigh Terrace (through Jersey Marine), Pen Y Heol, Burrows Road, Hen Hoel, New Road, Sidling Terrace, Park Avenue and Peniel Green Road.
