Helen Flanagan's TV Return: Coronation Street Star Joins Celebrity Ex On The Beach
Helen Flanagan joins Celebrity Ex On The Beach

Former Coronation Street star Helen Flanagan is making a major comeback to television, seven years after leaving the iconic ITV soap. The actress is reportedly set to appear on the upcoming series of Celebrity Ex On The Beach, a significant move to revitalise her screen career.

From Corrie to Reality TV: A New Chapter

The 35-year-old actress, who first found fame playing Rosie Webster on Coronation Street from 2000 until 2018, began filming her scenes for the MTV show this week. A source close to the production revealed to The Sun that Helen was 'so excited' to take part, describing her as a 'massive signing' for the channel.

The insider elaborated, stating, "Helen is sexy, feisty, and won’t hold back on the show and she wants to cause some fireworks." They emphasised that this show represents a significant opportunity for Flanagan, exposing her to a new audience who may not be familiar with her previous work in soaps.

Navigating Personal Life and Career

This television venture comes during a period of personal change for Flanagan. She recently became single after her split from Robbie Talbot in May of this year. The actress shares three children with her ex-fiancé, footballer Scott Sinclair, with whom she successfully co-parents despite his living five hours away due to work commitments.

Her busy family life has previously influenced her career decisions. In an interview with The Sun two years ago, Helen expressed a strong desire to return to Coronation Street but explained the challenges of balancing the soap's gruelling schedule with raising her young children. She detailed how filming days could require leaving home at 5 am and not returning until 9 pm, making it a commitment she couldn't fully undertake at the time.

A Growing Reality TV Portfolio and Future Projects

Flanagan is no stranger to the reality TV circuit. Her appearance on Celebrity Ex On The Beach adds to a portfolio that already includes I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here!, Celebrity Super Spa, and last year's stint on Celebs Go Dating.

She will be joined on the show by other well-known faces from British reality television, including TOWIE's Ella Rae Wise and Love Island's Anton Danyluk.

Looking beyond television, Helen is also preparing for the release of her tell-all autobiography, Head & Heart: Break-ups, Breakdowns and Being Rosie, scheduled for next year. She has spoken candidly about the writing process, acknowledging that it forced her to revisit painful times. "I’ve made mistakes, I’ve been hurt and I’ve had to rebuild from rock bottom," she said, "but I’ve also learned, grown and come out the other side a better, stronger person."

This new chapter on Celebrity Ex On The Beach marks a bold step in Helen Flanagan's ongoing journey to redefine her career and share her story with the public.
